Until recently my 2005 TD4 Sport has been running like clockwork, but I'm now getting one or two issues with it.

I was having some running problems, and after a bit of diagnostics found that that two of the injectors needed new nozzles. Fixed that and she was running smoothly and then started getting loss of power.

This is where things are starting to do my head in! Checked the turbo - ok. Replaced the MAF sensor, no change in performance. Checked the EGR - ok. Checked, and have now replaced, all the vacuum hoses, still no power.

Now, if I unplug the MAF sensor the thing runs like a rocket but with the EML on the dash. Plug the MAF back in - no power!

I've changed the MAF sensor for known working ones as well as new ones and the same issue. Unplugged runs and boosts fine. Plugged in, virtually undrivable.

Can anyone help??!!

that suggests that it Might be the wiring and/or plug connectors for the maf sensor

looking at various wiring diagrams ..
it might be that one of the connections isn't getting the right signal/voltage
when the maf is connected

( when the maf is disconnected .. the ecu senses that and substitutes a default maf mapping )

i'd suggest:
checking the wiring for an open, high resistance or short to ground.
checking the electrical harness connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals.

and after cleaning the plug connections
use this stuff on them ..
Contralube | Contralube 770
( available at Maplin stores )
ditto for all engine sensor electrical connections / earths etc etc ..
