Just a thought, has anyone used an off the shelf electronic pump to replace the expensive TD4 low pressure pump. A facet type with the right pressure and flow may be worth modifying to fit.

I seen no reason why a universal pump won't work, as long as it can supply sufficient pressure to keep the HP pump happy.
