Another on going issue. When my TD4 auto (2001, 225k miles) gets to a hill, i get an engine vibration though the car, like it want to stall. Make it kick down at its ok.

Also the gear change is a bit rough, like when it change gear, theres no power there after the change.

Whilst this has been happening its had the turbo hoses, fuel pumps, etc all change. Not done the MAP or MAF sensor, and not cleaned out the inlet. The egr has been cleaned a couple of times, but nothing has cured this one.

Any one any idea whens going on?

It may well be a slipping clutch in gear box try moving lever to sport mode (towards you) and changing down one gear ( 1 pull back) if the vibe goes then that could be the problem (not good)

When was the auto-box fluid changed last?

I had this hesitation and juddering when the box was reluctant to change down to 4th when a hill was tackled.

Changed fluid and an instant improvement - but not perfect - I was advised to wait a bit and right enough all trace of judder and hesitation gone after 100miles or so.

Just putting it in sport mode seems to stop it. Will get the auto box oil changes ad ser what happens. Gear change is a but rough and when it does kick down cos you want to go faster, it changes down and slows down before picking up again.

Gear oil level and or condition of oil can have big effect, too low can cause jump, clonks and hesitation.
can be overlooked by many a garage on a "full service" well worth checking out before it gets well screwed.
