The last week or so I've had a lot of diesel pouring out of the bottom of my 55 plate Freelander Td4. Managed to trace the leak to the high pressure diesel pump (the one to the side of the oil filter). The leak is worst when starting up first thing in the morning (when there is a steady stream of diesel coming out) but improves within 5 - 10 mins.
I've been in touch with my local indie who referred me on to a diesel injection specialist. They are going to take a look at it later this week and said they may be able to refurbish the pump or it may need a new pump fitted at £££.
Was wondering if anybody else has been in this position and whether a refurbishment is sufficient or if a new pump is usually needed?
