TD4 Glow Plugs

Sorry if this has been covered - I have read conflicting answers so thought i could just ask here.

After a series of problems my 05 TD4 has come back from the garage today.
They have changed all 4 glow plugs and the glow plug relay.

Before i took it to them i was sure that the glow plug light on the dash board lit up everytime i started the car regardless of the temperature outside - even if it was only for half a second or so

Now it just doesn't light up at all?
Is this normal or does this mean that the glow plugs aren;t being warmed at all now?

Sorry to ask it if it is a popular question but i have seen answers state that both no light and light every time is the norm? confused?

mines only lights once a day first thing in the morning. rest of the day it dosnt come on

sounds normal

They lit up this morning when I tried it, but the bloody car still won't start - but that's a different post ;-)
