I have a 2004 TD4 Freelander1. The engine light flashes intermittently and the engine misfires but everything runs fine when the engine is under load. It starts straight away hot or cold but runs erratically when it ticks over. Whats the problem?

Could it be a dirty sensor or poor connection somewhere? How do you clean the sensors?

It depends on which sensor you want to clean, and weather cleaning is helpful. There are very few sensors needed or used on the TD4. The main ones are the MAP sensor (can be cleaned with a spray cleaner) and the rail sensor (can't be cleaned). There's also the MAF sensor (cleaning is pointless IMO) and the engine temperature sensors (again cleaning is pointless).

Hi Nodge, Where about's is the MAP sensor?

Is there an easy way of changing the front mount on the rear diff on my F1?
try a forum 'search' .. as it's a common issue .. am sure 'Hippo' did a vid. of the procedure.
be YT vids as well ..
e.g. ..

Thank's for that hd3 I was beginning to think that I would have to drop the sub frame down. For the sake of 1/2 inch more clearance on the cross member it would come out without removing the other mounts. Anyway a job for next week. Cheers
