Freelander 1 TD4 engine misfire

This is the problem I have
When driving my TD4 starts to intermittently misfire and there is a clicking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment at the same time as the "misfire".
Any ideas.

Probably a faulty injector, or the loom. Both can fail. Or it could be a short in the loom, which is the clicking you can hear.
