TD4 collapsed pipe

hello guys,just been under the bonnet for my monthly inspection,clips,hoses etc,noticed that one of the pipes seems to have gone oval shaped and collapsed ,td4 2.o o3,its the pipe that sits left of the engine and runs parralel to the water bottle,is attatched to the bodywork just below the water bottle,semi metal with a plastic connector half way along then goes into a hose,i think its probably something to do with the aircon,heater matrix,just a little concerned as not noticed it flattened before,any advice would be appreciated as allways,

I had the same concern some time ago when I found this on my 05MY TD4, particularly as my 01MY had a round hose, not oval (see pic). It's a power steering hose and I checked a number of post 2004MY cars and all had the flattened hose, including new ones in the show room.

There was a part number change from VIN 3A240368 onwards which means a post 14 Oct 2002 build date, so that's probably when Land Rover changed the design from a circular cross section to the oval section and fits with the date of your car. I seem to recall some issues with knocking noises when the steering was on full lock on some cars at that time, which was traced to power steering hoses, so it may have been part of the solution to that.
