Does anyone know of a part number or replacement part for the brass coloured nuts on the td4 camshaft cover?

I have overtightened an intake manifold bolt, and its pulled it out and stuck itself to the bolt, I have checked RAVE, searched on here and haven't found anything.

Those are nut inserts, which are moulded into the cover when it's manufactured. They're not available separately, but can be glued back into place with a degree of success if the correct adhesive is used.

The inlet manifold bolts don't need to be tight, the manifold is sealed with O rings, so the bolts simply need to hold the manifold face against the head, nothing more. Anything tighter than you can apply with a screwdriver is too much.

Thanks as always lads, some great ideas and advice here. But the nut insert/collet were beyond saving sadly. Its a lesson learned about over tightening bolts.

For anyone else in this situation, I've found one of these from a breaking Landy and I will replace the whole part.

Wow that is a lot of work and expense, instead of maybe use an Helicoil insert.

I did consider doing this, and repairing the insert, however its way too deformed and beyond saving, I managed to get the whole replacement part for £100, and this will teach me at over torquing a bolt :D

Appreciate the advice and ideas however, I will consider it in the future.
