Hi everyone, long time since I've been on here.
Today one of the rubber fuel lines burst on my td4, whilst attempting to fix it I stupidly broke two of the plastic connectors which go into the nylon (hard plastic) fuel lines. (to be fair, they are 20 years old ,so brittle) I'm hoping I can repair it somehow , I'd appreciate any suggestions. One of the connectors is pretty simple but the other one has about 4 inlet/outlet pipes , this is going to take some creativity. Replacing the whole line is not really an option, I'm no mechanic and garages here won't touch . Does anyone know what diameter the rigid plastic lines are ? The car is still on the side of the road so I can't look myself until tomorrow, I want to try and source the push fit (quick) connectors I've seen. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, TIA.

Hi,

Wish part did you broke ?
If you broke the fuel connector that comes from the fuel cooler you are in big trouble, that part isn't avaible separatly.

If you have a picture, is better to know best option to fix it ?
If your not a mechanic the best option is to replace the full broken part with a preowned one or a new one.

Sounds like you've broken the connector's for the fuel return you can buy little plastic T piece's from Halfords or any motor spares and piping,(pennies) and easy to do .Mine bust a pipe diesel everywhere only little pipes about 4/5in long

Thanks the replies, there is a connector/valve which joins 5 pipes together, it seems to be both directions i.e. supply and return, if I knew which pipes went in which direction I could probably figure something out

This is the bit I broke, I think I have figured out a way round it using a brass cross shaped barbed fitting and a T with a piece of fuel hose to join the two, I can't afford a complete set of pipes so I am trying to bodge it the best I can. Does my plan sound viable ?
Honestly I am having trouble remembering where all the pipes go, I was surprised to find that all the pipes including the inlet were joined to the return, I am beginning to wonder if I'll ever get it running again.....

Hi,

So it’s pre face lift TD4 from 2001 or 2002 ?
You will certainly need a 2 way connector and a 3 way. Unless you can replace the full fuel line.

Update: I fixed it ! I actually needed 2 T connectors and a 4 way connector, not sure how long it will last but for now it doesn't leak. I had to get a bit creative to join the plastic pipes , I ended up putting a metal insert inside the plastic pipe and a rubber hose secured with hose clamps over the plastic pipe, not standard but it works for now...
