hello all i have just purchased a 2002 td4 and very happy with motor,with the exeption of nosie when you turn at slow speeds with the aircon on,not much up to speed with this type of thing but i can only descibe the sound as if a belt is slipping or rubbing,the aircon is working fine other than that,any ideas please help.

Fit new belts [yours are slipping and part worn]. . . :)
 
I agree with these monkeys, worn out belts. The AC compressor demands quite a lot power to turn it, often wearing belts out.
Get them changed and tightened up and you'll have many more minutes happy motoring :D

Can't imagine it would cost a great deal as it's one belt I think. Trouble is, how easy is this belt to get to?

Cheapest option = do it yourself
Medium option = take it to a local garage
Expensive option = take it to Land Rover

Mark is spot on , however there is two belts on the td4 if ya do one ya might as well do tother as they are in about same place, very easy to d i y. . .:)
 
Ming answered my tough choice question, you will do it yourself and do both belts ;)
