TC in reverse?

TC compares the speed of each wheel, so to work there must be some grip somewhere. If there is no grip, so that all 4 wheels are spinnig at the same speed, TC can't help. You can get the same effect by putting your foot down too hard, and so breaking all traction.
Having said that, it's surprising where it will find grip, I've cretainly driven up icy roads that I couldn't have walked up unaided.

ok but do you not find that the tc is set to high and the wheels spin up to much before it kicks in? and somtimes you can get better results by slipping the clutch
[if you dont mind the burning smell]

Or the cost of replacement!
My TC seems to do the trick forward or reverse.
Only time it did struggle was trying to reverse a trailer up onto a really steep drive which was a bit on the slippy side.
But otherwise no probs.
And i dont particularly like the smell of burning clutch. That day i did and i didnt feel to happy about it at all.
