Tappet noise

Right, my engine is sound, recent rebuild etc and sounds glorious just sat there revving, however, when under load I have what I can only describe as tappet noise??

No such noise when stationary and not under load?

Mate thinks it could be brake vacuum, does this sound right?

How do I test?

difficult to say as vac pump and tappets are effected by engine load,revs maybe ,you can remove vac pump and hold something over the hole and try

Seems to have been a small leak on the exhaust manifold, sorted now
