Tailgate help

I am wondering if a tailgate from an old defender will fit in to the rear end of my series 3, sorry im a bit of an idiot but any responce will really help.

I believe they are interchangeable.

yes they do fit, but defenders have a wire strap with different fixings as a support rather than a chain so bear that in mind
