Standard bulbs fitted, except reverse light (Changed to LED as standard one was rubbish). Everything works fine until I put it in reverse. Reverse light continues to work along with number plate light. Brake and side lights cease to light up regardless of what I do even when not in reverse. After scratching my head and stopping for a cuppa with engine off, I returned back and the rear lights all work again. I plan to try change back to Standard bulb to see if that works. Curious if anyone else has had this issue and if its a known/obvious problem. I don't know if the fault was there before as it would easily go undetected (I normally only reverse to park and switch off). I'm hoping I'm not doomed to reversing in near dark from now on.
Thanks in advance,
Davie

I’ve got the same setup and it works fine with no special modifications needed.
As Dippy has said, check and clean all earth points, replace screws/nuts/cable if necessary.

I had all sorts of problems with the back lights. Brake lights work, tail lights not. One indicator working, the other not. Reverse not working. Fog worked, then didn't.
I bought a new 18" earth strap, installed that, and ran a 14 gauge wire from that to the other side of the rear.
Then routed all the old Earths into those two new anchor points. Not had a problem since.

Next spring I'm removing all the old LR bullet connectors and installing econoseal connectors.

Lord of Darkness - Lucas, is slowly being banished from Green Oval land ...

They were servicable for the time and kept the Land Rover bean counters happy, but there's far superior solutions this century; Econoseal, Superseal, Deutsch, Kostal, etc.
