swivel pin leather gaiters

hello everyone, hope you are all well

i own a series 2A and it has leather gaiters over the chome balls by the swivel pin housing.
i believe that these are an optional extra so to speak.
unfortunatly thay have ripped on my old bus and was just wondering how hard it is to change them as i am new to land rovers.

any advice would be much appreciated

pop. to change them. are the seals under them ok. cos if not then its not a pop.

some folk say yer better without them as they can trap crap that would otherwise fall by the way side
