Too much, I've seen those type refurbed, but it doesn't last ...So... How much pitting/corrosion is too much?

I've seen a few 'new fangled' folks having them Teflon coated... I take it this isn't much of a long term solution either?
Seems like it won't be as tried and tested as the originals.
