Have I worn my welcome out yet????

I just received a new switch - Parking Aid System SKU: YUG500330PUY direct from LandRover. The switch in the newly arrived 2005 TD4 manual is broken. Not sure how or why, as was the glove box door and the other blanking plug next to it.

I was expecting it to be an on/off switch with a positive feel in and out with a click (if that makes sense) but it isn't? Have I received a faulty one?

What's yours like?

Thanks friends.

No, the switch is a non-latching switch, so is correct.
The PDC module receives a pulse from the switch, and latches the sensors on from there.
This is done so the PDC module can put the switch warning light on independently of the switch. ;)

Thank you very much @Nodge68. One for the answer directly and two, for putting me out of my misery trying to recall the technical phrase. Latching!!

Hello @Nodge68, I fitted the latching switch and blanking insert today. Do you know if the blanking insert attaches to the wiring for a cruise control circuit please? I think it is but a second opinion is valued!

Yes, but only to hold the plug to prevent rattles. In fact all freelander blanks hold any plugs which may be behind them, for the same reason. ;)
