Very true. I saw NOS ones today for £299!?Madness! But at that price there could be case to remanufacture some new ones.

If they suddenly become available as remade parts that would push the price down surely?
Is the price a ‘supply and demand’ thing?
I would love some on mine but can not justify the price. May look at making my own by welding a plate onto standard ones though. Had not thought of that.Take a casting and go into production. Id love some for mine but had to fit series 3 ones due to being tight.
It doesn’t matter how hard I look rob, I just cannot find a capstan! HahaMy LWB has 2 of them on, I can see I may need to fit tamper proof bolts! Next time I'm getting my ear bent over the cost I will point out that I paid £1240 for it including £500 worth of mirrors. Its an argument I always loose but you never know... Oh and its got the brass bonnet catches that are £100 a pop so its was nearly free......(and we don't mention the gearbox or engine rebuilds or chassis welding its needed so far). ps while your in that box is there a capstan?
I have a lovely big bits box. It never has an overdrive in it no matter how many times I look.It doesn’t matter how hard I look rob, I just cannot find a capstan! Haha
