Makes you wonder if there is anything on the HPI register?

Wow! Thanks for the responses guys!

Adrian, you are correct I omitted to completely block the reg plate
from 2 of the photo's and this has now been corrected. Thanks for the
feedback.

The reason people block reg plates is to prevent cloning. i.e. someone
registering a car like yours after yours has been sold and is still
being processed by the DVLA. Its more common than you would imagine
and happens frequently where DVLA changes are being made i.e. car is
up for sale, auction etc. Something which you ordinarily cannot tell
from a car travelling down the road.

Graham, I personally would not buy a vehicle without having a HPI
check done on it first. Anyone who does not HPI a vehicle before
purchase is simply asking for trouble.

re: my eBay auction: I am happy to provide people with the reg plate
info in order to do this (as detailed in the T&C's) but only the basis
that land line contact has been established, again to prevent fraud as
best I can.

This is a uncrupulous world we live in especially online. You are
right to be cautious.
