I have a 1996 Range Rover 2.5 diesel and am experiencing a sudden loss of power when driving. It normally occurs when I am accelerating hard and the car goes to change gear at about 4000 rpm. Just after it happens I take my foot of the accelerator and you can hear a wising noise, I am not sure but I think it could be the waste gate. I am unsure if the car has ever been chipped. I recently replaced the air filter and now its fins are deformed.

Has any one experienced this or have any ideas? Please Help!
