My Disco 1 TDI300 didn't want to start this morning so decided to check the fuel cut off solenoid (which turned out to click when disconnecting/connecting cable while ignition was on). I also heard this noise, which seems to come from the side where the fuel lines are (and AC i guess?).

Anyone know what this could be? Havent had time to pinpoint the location or what it can be, will continue doing this later today after work. Could it be related to the engine not starting? Any tips regarding that problem, what to look at next?

Without doing more than checking the fuel cut off, it started again. Maybe a bad connection. It was cold yesterday morning, around 0 degrees Celsius, dont know if that was part of the problem. I guess Ill wait and see what happens when it gets cold again.

But that buzzing sound, is that normal? Its still present.

Never heard something like that before - but - your aircon compressor clutch is an elctro magnet thingy

Follow the two wires back from the aircon belt and in about 6 inches or so you will find a plug - disconnect it and c what happens

An update on the starting problem: my glow plugs were toasted, changed 3 out of 4. Anyone knowing a good howto or video on how to change the last one located next to the AC?

Remove the ac pump, not the pipework, just unbolt the pump and move it out of the way.

Ignore badger above.
