Hi anybody had or heard of the following problem?
My freelander seems to have developed a rumble from i assume the front left side wheel area.
I have checked the obvious brakes, and wheel bearing on this side and all seems fine ( i did have to free the slider a little and at first i thought this was the problem)
The sound i can only describe as a rumble as if the brake was rubbing the wheel and is not to bad at the moment but i would like to get some amunition before i return to my dealer so as to maybe tell them what i believe is the problem.(this is of great importance as i live in spain and the language barier on tech stuff can be dificult i have to learn the spanish words for certain items before i visit)
many thanks

:( Thanks trev, i just read another thread and i think the prob might be the IRD. had a sneaky feeling that it was a bearing kinda noise..........and i think that is the case...the freebie is going in for its annual service in a week so il get them to check it out its still under warranty so i should get anywork done for free.the place i bought the landy is a main dealership and so far they have been brill i could say a waranty in Spain is worth the paper its written on..they have replaced 2 rear tyres (uneven wear made a hell of a noise ) and another old time freelander favourite my rear box fell off (it was the original mind) and ive had no probs with the repair so fingers crossed .I hope im right on the costs the only problem we do have in Spain is the cost of purchasing a vehicle........believe it or not (and i searched everywhere) my little 6 yr old freelander cost me the best part of wait for it...................11,000.00.....and thats GBP  (16,000.00 EUROS) :(
So the least they can do is stick to their warranties i suppose. Il keep you al informed.
So any body out there want to start importing left hooker landies let me know...........there's money to be earned in them there hills

Hi folks just got back from my LANDROVER dealership in FIGURES SPAIN....and the problem with my rumble was the 2 main support bearings on the prop are shot:( .........the mechanic didnt think they were covered by my warranty BUT after checking with one of the other members they are..so thank god for that:) .The other thing he said was after they had been fixed they would check the IRD to make sure that it was ok..........maybe some of the UK dealerships should come over here to see how the SPANISH dealers operate..because believe me from the dealings i have had with them it does seem that in SPAIN the customer is still KING:D :D .thanks for the forum as wel at least i had a sneaky idea what it could be after reading some of the other threads.THANK YOU LANDYZONE AND ALL YOU CONTRIBUTERS.
Cheers
TATOOBOO.
