Strange noise for rear during braking

Hi Guys, Had the freelander a while now. Recently it has started making a strange noise from the rear during braking... I thought it was a stuffed brake shoe, but had the brakes done and still happening.. Anyone know what this could be?

What kind of noise is it ?

The noise is like an intermittent grind. Thats why I originally thought the brakes were catching, or grit in them. It seems to be coming from the rear drivers side. ( Grrr. Grr. Grr.) But mainly at low speed. It gets a bit louder the slower you get...
I could be noisey bushes....But wondered if it is a common problem...
Also does anyone know what the exhaust bore is on the V6, is it 2.1/2?
