Dear all
I am a owner of a Range Rover and these days I struggle with some very strange problems with the electrical system.
My hope is if any of you experts in here can give me some hints for help.:)

The problems occure like this:

Car: Range Rover 3.9 LSE Vogue 1993.

1. Seat on the driver-side, no function
2. Sunroof, no function
3. Flash-lights do not work any more
4. Fog-lights not working
5. Clock in the middle of the dashbord not working
6. Interiour-lamp not working
7. Under-bonnet lamp do not work
8. Hazard lights out of order
9. Fan for the heating system out of order
10. Electrical adjustment of mirrors doesn’t work as well
11. When ignition on, the lamp for oil-pressere only light up with a low intencity

I have pulled some fuses and checked, especially the B2 and the B5, but can’t find any defects (have ohmen them). When I measure the voltage in the slots for the fuses, I find 12V on the lower slots both for B2 and B5 when the ignition is in ‘off ‘ position (0).
The very strange thing is that when I turn the ignition ‘on’ (II), is that the voltage on these lower slots turn to zero voltage.
I have looked through the enging room and can generally suspect the possibility of a earth problem or another type of contact problem due to some years driving in Norwegian salted roads. The engine starts and runs perfect.
If some of you have any ideas or made similar strange experiences - Please, let me know.

I had similar problems with my [whisper] Renault Laguna [/whisper]. It had some corrosion in the base of the fuse box. It was really annoying - as is the whole car. What can I do, the wife likes it. I think you are correct about the earth problem. The earths get corroded easily.

Check the wiring diagrams from workshop manual and you might even be able to pinpoint the circuit(s) which has(ve) the problems. Rave-files might help. I guess you'll be able to find them as they have been "advertised" in this forum as well. I do not remember whether the wiring diagrams tell where each circuit is earthed. They do for the *cough* Laguna in the Haynes manual...

I'd first go through the earths, then connectors and then the loom for some cracks or wear on the surface of the wires where the loom(s) go through bulkhead and other tin parts. Have fun...:p
