Evening everybody,
I am hoping to buy a 2015 Defender 110 soon. It has a storage/gun drawer in the load area. Trouble is I have 2 big dogs and was wondering if anyone knows if there will be enough height room for them in the back if the drawer stays in place. ????

What dog mate? I got a drawer in mine, prob foot high and can fit dobe in. However, it is a bit of a leap for him!!!

I’m going to lose my draws  and remake them into side cabinets in lieu of the rear seats

mines higher than the sides too and dog can still fit
If you think, the sideway seat bases are a bit higher than the sides and you can fit a person sat in there so there is quite a bit of room.

Hiya. I’ve got a Lab and a Spanish Mastin. She’s very tall even when she sits down, hence my worry about the height room. Might be ok though if you can fit a Doberman in. Don’t really want to take it out if I can help it as it was factory fitted.

They’re huge aren’t they? My dobe isn’t big for a dobe but yeah I think you could fit a leggy dog in and if factory install your draw will be almost slimline compared to mine.
Good luck with the vehicle - do update us if you get it and make sure you get some good security on it - a decent alarm as a minimum. Have a look at ardcase too. Any questions just drop them in the defender owner section as so much knowledge and advice on here

Thanks so much. I’m new on here and still learning how it works but what a great website. Had a G4 110 years ago but I had to sell it on cos it was costing me a fortune so can’t wait to get another one!!

Those draws were same height in my hilux and bed and canopy was was lower than my defender thinking about it. I had a large lintran crate ontop of them. I’m of the opinion if the dogs in the truck it lays down anyway! Don’t want them moving about.
Good luck and take your time looking. Shouldn’t be gremlins at that age but yeah check buyers guide etc.
Yes this forum is great. There’s all sorts of knowledge on here, not just engines and oil. People from all backgrounds with different skills and a common interest. People have taken time out to help me and advise and have even given me parts for my project. :)

You do realise that even a 2015 one will still do this, that is just what defenders do. It shouldn't put you off though it should just inspire you to by a larger tool kit and work on it yourself to minimise the fortune it costs you. Then the fortune is spent on tools and garage equipment so it doesn't feel like it is the land rover that is costing all the money. At least that is what I tell myself ;)

Morning. Yes I am prepared to have to spend money on it. My last one had really suffered on the G4 expedition and hadn’t been particularly well looked after. The one I want has only done 21000 and only light use so I’m hoping it won’t be as bad to keep right. !!!!! Got my fingers crossed!

It might be a bit better. But probably not much.
It is a Land Rover.

This cracked me up. My toolkit is under constant upgrade! Good thing is they'll last you a lifetime providing they don't get pinched.
Another issue is defenders seem to attract more monkeys than any other car I've had. You seem to do a job and find someone's shortcuts or a little thing missing as you go.

Part of the reason I may remake my draw into cupboards is that leap - On a pickup the tailgate is like a landing pad for the dog so that you can sort them before they go into the box - works nicely. I'm not lifting my muddy dog into my landy lol. Get covered in mud each time.

Think I'll keep a garden sprayer to hose him down in winter. He'll hate that haha
