Hey, everyone who is crossposting suv stuff, greenhouse stuff and etc... can
you please take it elsewhere and quit clogging up six different newsgroups
with off-topic stuff? Surely one of you can start a new group or take the
lead in finding somewhere else to do this. I would ask people from emory to
stop because your ****ing off alot of people and it's not a good thing to
have in your place of buisness. As for the rest of you, just stop it
damnit.

Thanks for cross-posting this and starting another thread. BTW, the #1
douchebag seems to have been silenced on that thread and it should die out.

Approximately 12/4/03 06:41, Nick N uttered for posterity:

If you want to start a one man campaign, every time you
see that thread, simply reply. Remove all of the old
material and add a polite request to stop the off topic
cross posting. And remove the newsgroup that you
read.

Other than that, you are dealing with one of the most notorious
crossposting gasbags in internet history, and as long as anyone
is willing to reply, he keeps blowing gas.

Good luck getting anyone to do anything about it. I've bitched a few times
with no results. No one really seems to care. I'm ready to say F this NG and
go elsewhere. There is a great message board for Jeeps at jeepsunlimited.com

These days ISP's actually do seem to care when people violate their
terms of service.

Posting unrelated BS to a newsgroup with a charter is breaking
everyone's TOS on pretty much any ISP these days.

You get the full headers and forward them to the abuse department of the
sender.

If they get flooded with complaints, they will usually do something
about it.

I forgot, it's easier to bitch and whine than it is to learn...

I drive a pick up.
it has four-wheel drive.
it does well in the snow.

-there, at least the thread now loosely relates to at least one of the
cross posted newsgroups...

Is your pickup a jeep?

when I was in high school, I had a friend who drove an old Jeep
pickup. we would carry around a typical 2 1/2 gallon water fire
extinguisher with us. we'd go to the gas station, fill it with water,
then pressurize it with the air hose. we'd cruise up and down the main
street in town and squirt the people walking on the sidewalk.
I had another friend who had an old, old Willys flat fender Jeep. that
one was fun to putt around the gravel pit with. if he did manage to
get it stuck, we'd hop out and lift up one corner and nudge it over to
get a little better grip.
nowadays, both my boss and a co-worker each drive Jeeps.

there now.
this thread is even more related to TWO of the cross posted
newsgroups.
wasn't that easy?

If you don't want crossposting, why do you start a thread of cross posting?
Just curious.

DITTO !

The wonderful thing about NGs and the internet in general is that
it's a wide open free format to spew whatever we want. If you want to
lose that right your self then . . .

Um, newsgroups with CHARTERS
(ftp://ftp.uu.net/usenet/news.announce.newgroups/rec/rec.autos.makers.jeep+w
illys) are not "a wide open free format to spew whatever we want". The
"alt." newsgroups give you that freedom.

You are 100% wrong there john doe.

Some newsgroups actually do have a Charter and now a days most ISP's
really frown on people blatantly breaking that Charter.

By doing so you are violating your agreement with AOL or the TOS they
call it.

If enough folks complain and include all the headers of your posts, AOL
might just decide to stick to the terms of service 'you' agreed to and
pull your plug.
