I know this divides opinion. But whilst my vehicle does go off road to launch a boat it is also used in Chelsea tractor land in London.
The stop start is very intermittent and I would like it working where I live.
So tested the two batteries.
Small one 12.6 big one 12.5 (should these be higher)
Both 14.6 with engine on.

The vehicle us a 2016 ulez compliant one. I think original batteries.
Replacing seems like a way forward but I do not have ability to reprogram the ecu.

Then use a set of jump leads to connect your new battery while removing the old one, that way the vehicle will have continuous power.
Unless someone knows a reason why this should not be done.
Old trick often used to maintain a radio code etc.

Thats sadly isnt the case, the car needs to be told it has a new battery:).

So diagnostics or stealer;).

The batteries may look healthy but the car will decide, if "it" is in doubt the stop start function will not work:).

Than that is a load of cr@p and will ensure I never buy one with it on.
Would never trust it to start every time either, but then that may be just my paranoia!!!:(:(

Many cars are like that, and have been for years, Audis you have to tell the car what the battery code/serial number is.
It is all to do with the charge circuit, which is smarter than smart, you even have to charge the rear mounted battery vie the jump points in the engine bay, so the current goes thought the cars brain and it can understand where the power is coming from

Though to be fair last one she had I just fitted the battery with zero issues!

I am sure they have. It's just that we do not own any vehicle that is younger than 18 years old.
Feckin stupid. It's not a car, its a complicated computer with wheels.:mad::mad:

If you own a D4, then buy yourself a decent diagnostic device, as it'll pay for itself in under 4 dealer visits.
The Gap IID BT is pretty much the best there is, and connects the car to your phone, so you can do everything you need, without any additional equipment. ;)

plus don’t forget , should be an iPad for us older folk who cant see the bloody small screen on an iPhone , lmao

time to hide I think ;):p:p

Other tablets are available, which are far more functional than the restrictive Apple software. ;)

must confess use to have a laptop with the windows operating software , now having a apple laptop wouldn’t ever go back

I'm sorry Gary, but the whole IOS ecosystem is just far to restricted for it to be useful to me. If you are happy with only being able to do what Apple want you to do, and pay a premium for that restriction, then that's fine, but for me, the moment a manufacturer of a piece of equipment stops me from using it for what I want, then I'll not use it.
Hence I only use windows, and Android, as both are globally catered for, and are designed to work seamlessly with each other, and everything else.
I can even use fully fledged windows office on my Android.

Apple is a bit like LR saying you can buy any of our lovely looking LRs at an inflated price, but you can only drive it were we say you can, not where you want to go.
Not for me I'm afraid. :D

alas know ur extremely knowledgeable when it comes to computers / electronics

If that's all you need it for, then an Apple isn't going to cause you any issues, other than the so so build quality, and the complete lack of after care services.

However if you were doing stuff like me, running SDD, copying files from my phone to PC, or PC to phone, then the Apple ecosystem is really restricted.
You also don't see many people with IOS devices add pictures and files to forums, mainly because it's such a palaver to do so.
As an Android user, I can post a picture to any forum easily in a matter of seconds.
The other thing that bugs me about IOS, is it takes forever to put a few songs on a phone.
If I want a CD on my Android for example, I rip the CD to PC which takes a couple of minutes. I then plug in my phone to the PC, and simply send the CD to my phone, as though it were a USB stick. Literally 10 seconds per CD to copy, job done. It's then on my phone for as long as I want it. If the wife then wants it on her phone, I can Bluetooth it straight over, another few seconds and she has it too.

This is why I won't get into IOS again, as it's hurdles whatever I wanted to do with it.
Android is like freedom, IOS is like being in techno prison. ;)

Tell me, do you speak English too???
No TBH I did get part of that, and it seems to be similar to what I have been saying to the Wife for a long time now. It is as if an Apple user has to be forced to get a new fix every so often. Earlier this year her iPad just suddenly stopped charging, so she took it to the Apple shop where they put it on some sort of rig and tested it. The batt was fine it was just some stupid "board" that ran the charging circuit was fubar. New iPad? Feck as like, but they would exchange it for a new one for much less than new, but still £400 odd.
I fell right off my perch. We took it across the road to John Lewis from whom we bought it online. They refused to accept that it hadn't been "damaged" so we went back to the Apple shop where they provided us with paperwork to prove it had not been damaged but was a "hidden fault". They still wouldn't take it back and replace or refund. If it had been mine it would have ended up in the Small claims track but Wifey just cannot be without it apparently so she paid through the nose for the new/replacement one. Pile of unrepairable cr@p. Apparently the newer ones CAN be repaired.
I'd never get one.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Fully understand where ur coming from, find it ideal where I can store many pics on my iPad and then post them onto a forum with ease, however as you’ve mentioned it can be difficult doing things like files etc and windows being a lot more flexable

suppose at the end of the day just find the iPad and laptop convenient, plus just remembered I did buy an external apple disc recorder , alas it’s still in the box as I keep thinking I bet this isn’t going to be easy if I wish to record discs or store pics onto the disc,

Will find out when I’m feel very patient , lol

think another reason is when I had a dell windows laptop I useto get a stupid amount of junk emails, viruses etc , did have spam blockers and Norton etc , don’t get me wrong still get spam emails on the iPad but there considerably less plus don’t get any of the viruses

If I started to do 3D printing I think I would have to get a windows laptop or tower , plus sometimes it can be difficult finding an app for the apple system where a lot easier than windows

Sorry to hear of the agro , i had a similar issue with my iPad ref charging , spent some time and found it was dirt on the charging inlet, used a dentist metal pick and magnifying glass , carefully cleaned the pins , then got a magnetic charging lead where one bit stays in the charging port all the time and lead connects simply by a magnet, allowing the charging post to remain clean , have had to buy new leads here and there but does keep that charging point clean plus I found it reduces the risk of bending pins by not having to plug and unplug a charging lead all the time

but totally agre there service sucks if something goes wrong , it’s tough luck ,

Er, yes. We'll Mid Surrey, with a Cornish twang. ;)

Which is don't get an Apple?

Lots of my friends and family have fruity phones. They're conditioned into having the latest upgrade phone every other year, as it's so much faster than the phone they bought just 2 years ago.
Of course the latest I phone is faster, as IOS deliberately slows the system speed down over time, so it tricks the owner into believing that the latest phone is a massive upgrade, when in reality, it just a tiny bit faster.

My friends and family don't seem to understand how my nearly 4 year old Samsung Note 9 is still just as fast as their latest I phone, and ask why the battery in it still lasts all day?
Simply, Samsung don't deliberately slow the phone down as it gets older, to make the user believe the latest I phone is much faster, when in reality, there's little in it.
Also the battery life is governed by the quality of the battery manufacturer, which for Samsung is top quality, as they make the batteries for their devices.
Actually Samsung make all the components in their phones, alas Apple don't. Apple sub contract manufacturing out to a company call Foxconn, so manufacturing costs are kept low, because cheap third party parts can be used, even though the retail price for Apple products is high.
Trust me, an Apple device costs Apple about ¼ of the RRP. However Foxconn are making a profit from Apple, so how much does it actually cost to actually make the device?, not very much.

Samsung make their own phones in Samsung factories, using Samsung parts, so quality of manufacturing is assured. They also cost Samsung over ½ the RRP be make.
This is why my Samsung phone still works the way it should, even though it's technically now an OAP in electronic age.

This is just the hardware, the software is another story.
I've access to thousands of free apps from the Play store.
I've also basically unlimited space for pictures and files, as my Note 9 has a memory card slot on top of its huge factory memory, so I've almost unlimited space to take care of anything I'd need on it.
I've several gb of songs, tens of thousands pictures, hundreds of hours of videos, thousands of PDFs, Word files, Exel files, loads PowerPoint presentations and so on, and I'm still only ¼ of using up the memory.

Android also connects seamlessly with Windows, as both systems have been designed to compliment each other.
So would I use an Apple product these days, no I wouldn't.

To answer your first question, what I said to her was "Don't get ANOTHER Apple".
She also kept her old iPhone (s) and iPad but stupidly she lost the code.
So we took it to the Apple shop and no they couldn't unlock it so I could use it. They said she would somehow have to "prove" to Apple that she was the owner, and yes we haven't got round to finding a way of doing that. Unbelievably for her, she has lost the receipt.
You'd think they would just have to look at the serial number and check their records but no, that isn't enough even if she goes to the shop with her passport.
Total and utter rubbish.:mad::mad::mad:
