Sticky clutch pedal!

Morning guys, my Freelander TD4 ES (2002) has developed a sticky clutch pedal. It goes down ok (although a bit squeaky), but sometimes stays down and I have to shove my foot under the pedal and ease it up. The clutch seems to work ok, so any ideas whats happening? This is the best car I've ever had, never let me down (YET!).

The master cylinder is sticking, it may improve with a bleed through to clean new fluid but if it doesn't it will need to be replaced.

Thanks for that, I suspected it was the cylinder. Looks like I've got my first 'take it to the garage' fault.

Took my freelander to the garage, and it was the master cylinder. £120 for the cylinder and 1.5 hours labour. Works a treat now!
