Sticking brake pedal

Went out laning last week and had a right to do with the brake pedal, firstly the brake light switch disintergrated, then the pedal kept sticking down, I gave the pedal box plent of WD40 but still no joy, the retun spring is fairly new so can't be that, has anyone any advice on what I can do with out stripping it down,

On the side of the peddle box there is a screw attached to the shaft of the peddle you may wonder why it's there unscrew it and squeeze some in into the centre spindle/shaft, the screw is the plug for the lub hole. Hope this helps.
