Guys got disco 2 td5 tracking done twice recently and now be tracked parallel. Problem I have is the steering wheel is at about 2 o'clock when going striaght. How do I adjust the steering wheel centre?

there are two rods (not sure which way round they are on a D2).
one goes from wheel to wheel - this sets the tracking (toe in/out)
the other one normally goes from the drop arm to the n/s wheel - this is the one to adjust, as it adjusts the steering arm position relative to the wheel(and thereby adjusts the steering wheel position.

Wasn't being silly. OP stated it's a D2, and 2 o'clock seems a long way out for a steering arm. Chances are someone's had the wheel off for doing summat.

Silly! silly me, I removed my drag link to replace the ball joints but didn't lock the steering wheel, so the wheel must have moved as when I refitted the link the steering wheel was out at around 2 o'clock.
So disconnect a drag link joint centralise the steering then refitted the joint job done.

Silly! to suggest that when tracking the steering wheel was removed, it's not so straight forward to remove ta steering wheel fitted with air bag and switches.
The drag link disconnected may-be who knows.

Silly. Didn't mention tracking, did I?

Was just a suggestion, trying to help (what this forum is for ain't it?)

Have encountered similar on previous car I have owned. The most obvious answer is usually correct (occam's razor and all that)

I bow to your greater knowledge and experience.

Can't be arsed anymore with this forum.

Is that the attitude you want newbies to have or should we just shut the **** up and never try to help or learn?

Usual names being condescending, patronising etc whenever I read posts, maybe we should direct our questions to ppl that won't be arsey. I can take the **** (and have it taken) with the best of 'em but there IS a distinction. Oh, and I recognise sarcasm too.

Not looking for a row, no need to reply, like I said, can't be arsed. Just a straight view of how I see it, for what little it will be worth.

My point was purely this....
If the op hadnt moved the steering wheel then to do so now would be silly as he wud be compounding two errors.
As he has stated, he did not lock the steering whel, and because of that the drop arm had moved from its central position. All he needs to do is wind the position of the arm back so that the steering wheel is straight again. Problem solved.
By repositioning the steering wheel, the steering box would not be centralised and would give greater lock one way than the other.
Yes, of course we want your input, but when its wrong, expect to be told so. I get things wrong and peeps dont just call me silly!
Dont be such a moody cow, except it, learn from it and carry on.
