have just bought a mountney steering wheel which came with a boss,this was previously fitted to a 1994 defender and was told it would fit mine,mine is a 1988 model 90.but my centre spindle is smaller than the one on the steering wheel should this have fitted my model??..ta rich

Steering column changed when they changed from 90 / 110 to defender.
The boss from a series will fit though.

Like he said, 200tdi are not the same. You need 2.5TD or before.

You will feel the steering a lot better, as the big wheel makes it feel like it is all over the road.

Mine doesn't feel like it's al over the road. I'd be checking me steering and suspension before fannying about with the steering wheel

Put it this way, it has more play in it than my Passat !
