I have a 2005 HSE with Harman Kardon audio/sat nav setup and have just purchased a Kenwood DNX-7200 to replace this. My problem is that I want to retain use of the steering wheel mounted stereo controls but none of the adaptors seem to allow for this configuration.

As far as I can tell the controls seem to share their connection to the head unit with the CD changer, which I would also like to retain the use of if possible.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could maybe create my own adaptor or which cables should be connected to one of the commercially available adaptors (I have already purchased an autoleads kit).

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank's for your reply but it's actually a Becker Traffic Pro head unit. Not sure about the changer but I will look later.

The main issue is the steering wheel controls (I'm pretty certain that the cd changer is not compatible). The Becker head unit has ISO inputs so the freelander specific steering wheel interfaces available don't appear to be compatible. I think my vehicle may have the multiplex wiring loom, but again I am not sure (sorry, I'm new to this).

My hope is that the pink cable connected to pin 12 on the head unit will simply connect to the remote control input on the dnx-7200 but I'm afraid that may be wishful thinking.

Any input is much appreciated.

I have a Becker Traffic Pro BE4765 in my freelander and that works fine with the Alpine CD changer. CD changer has a number like XQE100110PMA.

I can't help with the steering wheel controls. They should in theroy work ok as the Becker was an optional fit.

Did you get the full loom with your sat nav unit?? You need the small grey box to allow steering wheel controls to work.

Regards,

Steve

My fault. I meant the current head unit is a Becker Traffic Pro. The unit I am loooking to install is a Kenwood DNX-7200.

Once again any help is appreciated.
