hi, I've got a 90 200tdi and it keeps getting a severe shake on the front end, the steering can be seen shaking about from the car behind

it happens from about 35mph up and usually when either going straight or a small ammount of left steering is applied

any ideas?

wheel balancing might be out. check your rims to see if you've lost a wheel weight. could also be a siezed CV joint if the shaking is really severe. happened to my 90 and felt like the thing was gonna shake itself to peices.

I'll get them changed

it does feel like it's gonna shake to bits, it doesn't happen all the time though, that was what was confusing me

Maybe unevern tyre wear? Might be worth sticking rears on front to see if it changes too.

- always start with the simplest fix! -

wheel balance normally happens at about 60 i doubt wery much its that and unless the bearings are collapsed i doubt its them too
i still say check prop UJ
let me know if i helped
