Hi folks;
I had a search and only found threads about Disco steering faults so thought I had best ask a question.
We have a 2003 Freelander 1.8 Serengeti with 30k miles on the clock and it has been regularly service by main stealer all it's life and just once (last time) by an LR specialist.
Just recently there has been a squeaking noise comming from the upper to mid part of the steering column when you turn the wheel and sounds a bit like a dry bush. It was worse in hot weather. I wasn't too worried and haven't done anything about it but now this noise is still the same but I can now hear a hissing noise from around the steeering column area after the car has been driven for a while (only with teh engine running) - it's the sort of noise you hear when you start to turn the wheel when stationary but ours hisses when you're not even touching the wheel. There are no fluid leaks.
Is it possible there is a blocked filter building up pressure somewhere?
And the squeak I guess is unrelated when you turn the wheel, just a dry column bush?
Any advice much appreciated.
TIA
