Sometimes, the steering on my 97 GMC C1500 gets real loose feeling,
especially when I go to turn. My boyfriend replaced the idler arm and the
pitman arm.... or something like that. But it is still loose. Someone told
me that it could be the gear box??? One went out on him 2000 GMC C1500.
Could this be the probloem? Does anyone else have this probloem? How can I
fix it?

Make sure the steering box is securely bolted to the frame. I have seen the
boxes start to separate. Best way to do this is to have one person turn the
wheel back and forth, while another person watches that location and any
others for play or slop.

That is a great idea because the steering box on our old 92 Chev Camaro did
that. But my boyfriend checked that when he changed the idler arm and the
pitman arm and he said it was fine...... :)
