I've been checking the steering and swivel housings on my 1969 2A this week. This is the first Land Rover I've owned myself and I don't have another at hand to compare with..
I have a steering lock stop bolt and stop plate on the driver's side (off-side, in my case) swivel pin housing.
There is no such stop bolt and plate arrangement on the other side, so no obvious limit to the steering lock in that direction. Is it just missing? It seems like both sides should have the same method for setting the max steering lock?
My II, IIA & III 1958 - 1977 petrol workshop manual also describes a 'jack stop', as "Location stop for jack (RH only)" (Fig 8.12 Removing the swivel pin housing), but I can't find anything on either side that looks like this, and I can't figure out how it relates to a jack - as in a car jack..?
What should I have on each side?
Cheers!
