Hi, I have a V8 HSE, which had ABS problems, and three amigos lights up, got no reading on drivers front and back wheels, so I replace ABS sensors for both and had to replace the cv joint on front drivers, went to reset the lights, but I get a grinding noise as if the traction control was holding me back, the lights come back up, plugged it in, and couldn’t get a reading from my steering angle sensor and a CAN BUS fault, took the whole dash off to get at the sucker, but can’t open the box to inspect the inside, does anyone know what size torx bit I need to open the thing? It’s a matter of urgency as my second car is running out of MOT at end of month and I need this car to be up and running again.

There's no user serviceable parts inside the steering angle sensor, so you're best bet is to simply replace it if faulty.

No need to remove whole dash to get sas out, you can lift coloum up enough to get sas off end of shaft. If you do a search on here there was a guy mentioned a while ago showing how to repair them, cant remember is name though, trom some thing or other.

Yes, I had found the post, sent to the husband, but he took the whole dash out anyway, don’t know what his reasoning was. I’ve been under a lot of stress lately due to issues at my workplace and cause of the car, but mostly the workplace, I don’t have energy to ask him.
