According to this month's Land Rover Owner magazine, the 18" steel wheels from the new Defender will fit straight on to Discovery 2 axles.
This could be good, as these wheels are being offered on Ebay at £5-600 for five, brand new take-off with tyres.
The tyres alone are £180 to buy. And the wheels are £400 each from Land Rover.
Owners of new Defenders remove the wheels to fit alloys.
These wheels were fitted to the base Commercial variant but that model has now been discontinued and the cheapest version now comes with alloys.
So the supply of new steel wheels being sold will likely dry up over time.
