My parts manual does not have a nice clear full image of how the outer inertia reel seatbelts work on a station wagon and my '88 station wagon rebuild did not come with any rear seat belts fitted! The two images I have are below:

On the mounting above I have ordered replacement tub mounting (6 &12) from YRM as parts of a very large order of parts to rebuild the rear tub. I have the uppers shoulder mounts already as I removed that when I removed the side panels. What I cannot work out is where the inertia reel mounts as part 1 in the picture says shoulder mounting but doe snot look like the one I have.

I know I will need the seatbelts shown above and am hoping I might find some at one of the autumn spares days. I have also worked out that 12 on the tub diagram is the buckle mounting, and 6 is the lower lap strap mounting. I have the upper shoulder mounting on the rear side (and the reenforcing structures to go with that) but am still none the wiser where the reel itself mounts.

Does anyone have any pictures of their setup or can point me in the right direction of what I would need for full mounting, I feel I am close but am missing a vital piece!
.

Is the shoulder anchorage (part 1 in the tub diagram) a combined reel and upper shoulder mount? In which case the current upper should mounting I have found may be for static belts?

Looking at the interior trim panel these look correct for inertia reel seatbelts? However the top mount setup which you will notice I have de-rusted and painted looks to be for static belts?

Anyone any suggestion, the rest of the vehicle is seems fairly original so I would not expect a mismatch but it is 35 years old.

Yes the reel goes behind the bulge.
Item 1 in your pic above is the bracket I have. New seat belts I got from that place down south? That were big on seat covers, cubby boxes etc but I forget their name. Seat belts made by securian (spelling?) and they went straight on.

That isn't correct, looks home made.

They are but off a later model, used when they went to push button doors. The original panels for the early sw had hardboard panels with a fablon type covering which fell to bits once a bit of damp got to them.
It'll all fit though I can't remember all the details. My sw body came off an 83 and I fitted all the later interior plastics etc off the later model although I think I fitted the later upper sides to get the side windows in the pic below, the 83 side windows were s3 type and square cornered.

I don't think it is home made because there is a re-enforcing piece bolted into the roof channel, it is the same both sides, and the little gold coloured piece is riveted on with the factory style of rivets which have been painted. Like I said the rest of the vehicle seems fairly original so I think it may the correct setup for the early static belts, but am looking for confirmation.

Many thanks for the pictures and for confirming that I do need the reel/upper shoulder mounting plate. Something else to add to the shopping list. I am hopeful I can get second hand belts from spares day to keep some of the costs down.

I have the later style round corner windows so that may be where the later interior side panels come in. I am in two minds if I want to refit the trim panels as I am used to having everything bare in the back and am not fitting seats so am not sure if they are benefit, hinderance or indifferent. I am aiming for a fairly basic vehicle rather than a modernised Chelsea tractor final product.

Just remembered! Exmoor trim, that's who supplied the 2nd row belts. So a set of them with 2 of the mounting brackets , item 1 in your first pic and your sorted.

Why do you want to fit belts if no seats? Unless you mean rear load area seats? I haven't got them either. Have you got the end trim panels that fit over the rear small windows? It'll look odd ,I think , with the two side panels only.

I mean the rear load bed side facing seats. I am planning on having just the two rows of forward facing seats giving me a 6 seater. I can always fit side facing in the future if needed but cannot foresee that at the moment and the rear load space is likely to be more use.

I do not think there are rear trim panels for the quaterlight windows, fairly sure all I have is the side panels. Everything in the hardtop currently is bare with rubber matting on the floor, I would like to keep that functionality in the station wagon and it is what I am used. I may refit the B-pillar trim and over second row door trim as I have that, but it is the rear panels I am unsure of.

I’ve got an ‘87 110 SW, I’ll get some pictures tomorrow. I don’t have the inertia reel vanity cover pieces, not sure if they were available in ‘87/88 - they seem a bit advanced!

That would be ideal if yours is uncovered. That would terrain be appreciated. Many thanks. It would also give me an idea of the finished look if I don’t bother putting the trim piece back in.

I hadn’t really noticed the missing trim before (a work vehicle that’s normally full of crap), it would definitely look better with the trim!
Many thanks for that very much appreciated. It show that the setup I have is for static belts and need the correct mounting brackets for the enertia reel.

I am still undecided about the trim panels but I am way away from finishing touches like that yet!
