Hi Guys, im new to the board and am hoping to find some help before going to Landrover with my credit card!!! We have a T Reg 1.8 Freelander with an intermitant sarting prob thats getting worse.
1) We unlock the door with the keyfob, the ign lights come on but the car is dead, so we reset the imobiliser with the key turning code and away we go but the starter makes a rattle noise whrn turning.
2) All day the car starts fine but with the odd rattle when firing from the starter motor (we think)
3) Next day car starts fine so we turn it off. 10 mins later its dead again. without resetting the immob we give it another go and yep its starts with a rattle from the starter.
4) 10 miles later and a 10 min break, it trys to start with a rattle from the starter but doesnt fire and imobilisers itself.
Help!! Dad is going to check the earth leads etc this morning but any help would be appreciated. is it the starter, imobiliser or something else?
