:mad:Back again !! Still no solution to non-starting problem.......Symptoms :-
Prior to New Year - NONE !
Post New Year - started with an intermittant sluggish start, assumed cold weather & persevered. Eventual non-start ( without aid of jump leads or booster pack ) & now complete non-starter, i.e. turn the key ( all dash lights operate as normal, i.e. OK ) but engine does not crank.

Action taken to date - replaced glow plugs, starter motor & battery, checked all leads, alternator, all fuses & the spider unit. All appears sound, so now I'm struggling for a solution.

Symptoms not experienced, include engine cutting out, start up after leaving the vehicle for a while, any dashboard warnings, etc. etc.

Following the replacement starter motor, I had five days of faultless starting & motoring, until the last morning ( 2 weeks ago ) when it simply would not start !!

So far this year, my vehicle has been in three seperate garages for almost fifteen days in total & I still have no permanent solution !! After each trip I seem to get a few days problem free motoring and then nothing.........

Any more clues, any one ........????????

is there any noise at all from the starter motor? Any clunks or clicks? From what yer describing I rekon yer alarm spider is goosed. Check for a live feed to the ignition wire on the starter when the key is turned to the 'crank' position.

Get a length of wire , bare a little at both ends , hold one end on small terminal on solenoid ( having removed the feed wire from ignition ) and then have someone touch other end of wire of battery positive . Make sure not in gear .
If starter turns it would point to spider problem (most likely) or maybe ignition switch problem (less likely)
