Moring all. A few weeks ago my Freelander 1 glow plug light started to flash and click on starting, but not on every occasion. Thinking that it was the battery getting worn out, I put a new one on.
However the issue has not gone away and noticed that when it does do it, the descent warning and traction control lights stay on the dash all of the time after starting and driving the car also there is a buzzing from somewhere behind the left of the dash or engine bay for a time which I have not noticed when the cars starts normally .The cars does start eventually but takes a few tries..... at the moment !!!.
The car is running fine other than there is a diesel leak from around the injector area at the top of the engine but not been able to see where it is coming from, even after cleaning it up and watching the engine ticking over. Any ideas. John

Find the diesel leak, this your main and only problem.

Fuel return hose is a know issue. check carefully. If the the full return hose is not dry …

The glow plugs and the battery is good.

It would be best if you did a leak back test on the injectors, i had this on my R40 once i never noticed it until a friend said he could smell diesel, i removed the engine cover and immediately saw diesel round the injector nearest the cam sensor and it had flowed into and around the other injectors.

leak back test undertaken showing which injector was leaking, so changed all the copper washers on each injector and all was ok, and still is today.

I knew it could not be the plastic T joints because i had brass ones on the car.

The car was starting ok every time but i would have thought eventually been hard to start if i had not caught it when i did.
