Starting 110 in reverse gear - just to move a few feet

So... after 10 years of neglect, my 300tdi 110 has got 10 years of problems for me to fix (still investigating starting issue - from other thread).

However, in the short term, I need to move it backwards a few feet (for access to other machines). But one of the rear wheels is jammed solid (I've jacked it up and one wheel was a bit stiff to rotate by hand, but soon freed up... but the driver's side rear is jammed solid. In addition to trying to rotate by hand, I've tried putting a wheel brace on the wheel bolts and jumping up and down on the brace. Didn't work).

I was wondering if I could do something mickey mouse / cowboy... like starting the car in reverse gear... to help unjam the wheel... and move the car a few feet backwards (added problem... I don't want to move it more than 8 to 10 feet because that would see me hurtling through a brick wall.) Also another major problem is the car is starting and running at full revs... as it appears the diesel injector pump's governor is stuck on full throttle).

Or is there some other quick fix to unjam the rear wheel in the short term (with proper surgery to follow in the longer term)? That way I'd be able to push the 110.

A few smacks with a hammer normally does the trick.

I wouldn’t start the engine again until you fix the running issue.
Starting it from stone cold and instantly going to full throttle won’t do it any good at all.

This would be the order I'd attempt things.

1 Release the wheel. As stated bit of a tap with the Thor hammer or wheel off get to the route of the problem.
2 Pull it back with hand winch? Depends what you have to hand but just about every Land Rover owner I know has some sort of hand winch.
3 Push it back with a Hi Lift jack. Laborious but doable.
4 Move it back on the starter motor. Given the problems with the engine I would not start it but disconnect the live feed to the dissy pump (I am assuming the 300 TDi is similar to early 90/110 engines) select low reverse and crank the starter over, fully charged battery will move a Land Rover 10 foot no problem. For those of us with a long history of Series Land Rover ownership the technique of driving your Land Rover with a failure to the clutch hydraulics, starting in the low box and immediately crashing into the high box and coming to a stop by cutting the ignition/pull stop was a right of passage.

First, take some pics.
Second, take wire off fuel cut off.
Put jack under stuck wheel, put in reverse and then wind it back using starter motor only.
Then take some more pics and post them here.

I've pushed cars a few feet using a decent timber wedged between towing eyes.get someone to line them up.
