startin prob????

any chance some of you wise peeps out there can give us a wee hand went out to start wurzal last night and batt was dead so charged over night and this morning couldnt get her to run after i lifted my foot off the accelerator she just dies but will start and idle ok till you try and go when i did get her to go forward any distance she was back firin all the way

shes a '79 series 3 petrol

got a bloke from the garage to come and look at her the night or tomorrow when he gets a chance but would prefere to sort it out myself so any ideas would be great

Sounds like a fuel problem check inline filter could also be dirt in the float bowl or a sticky jet. also chck rotor arm & points are clean.

The symptoms ae classic signs of FUEL STARVATION.

Lift pump ... filters ... empty tank? .... dirty pickup strainer .... choked gauze filter (if it has one) at carb fuel inlet ... float needle valve clogged with crap .... main jet chocked with crap ....

Check for a good skoosh of fuel out of pump then strip and clean carb,
