Hi everyone.
I have freelander 1 sport and now the SRS light has come on on the dashboard display.
Anybody know this fault, usual suspects to cause this plz. Your help is appreciated.

First easy check is plugs and wiring under front seats, feet can cause problems with this!!

After that it helps to get the airbag fault codes read.

Can be a broken wire in the steering wheel rotary wiring behind steering wheel airbag, but best to get code.

BEWARE, if you make or break a connection with the battery connected, an airbag could deploy. Best remove battery and wait 30 mins then check wiring, make any repairs and reconnect.

Wires were ok, not diconected from the battery or anything but I'll live with it till I find a good mechanic that can change the engine on it.

Checked, they looked ok but engines gone now.

Yeh my normal mechanic seems vague and not really i interested.
Had i5 4 months, bringing it back to life
Find another mechanic then. There are plenty of LR specialist about, but the Freelander 1 isn't a difficult vehicle to work on, and the TD4 seldom needs engine changes.
