Hi all, long time no speak. I am starting to get my P38 back on the road and one of the issues is that the SRS light is permanently on. What are the steps to diagnose the fault after checking the yellow connectors under the seats? I have read the previous posts but do not know what checks to do and in what order.

Thanks

Does it look a bit dim or unevenly lit? There are 2 bulbs and if one goes out, the other will light up.

If it's not the under seat connector on either seat then it could be the clock spring in the steering wheel

Don't forget the connector behind the panel under the steering wheel. Pita to get at but was the cause on mine

I found I had to reset it with the Nanocom. Try the fittings / tracks for the bulbs on the back of the instrument cluster and make sure both are clean and working.

have you moved the seats mine used to play up with them being moved , had to chop the plugs off and use decent connectors and a year on it hasn't come back up , worth taking the plugs under the seats apart and spraying with contact cleaner and unplugging and plugging them back in a couple of times to clean them up
