Next question the rear seats the springs sit on have a lip and to put the two bars that hold the springs down if i tighten down the bolts the bars will bend up at the ends. Is it normal to insert washers under the bars to support them.

no - they normally bend to clamp the spring base

Hi mad hat
here is a pic showing the problem. If i bolt these through the two bolt holes you can imagen what will happen to the ends of the bar

Sorry thought mhm was taking the pi55. so this is normal i was just away to turn some metal in the lathe to take up the space..

Yes. It's Normal. As James Martin says, if the space under the plate is excessive and will result in the plate bending up severely then spacing washers can be added. If the plate will just have a relatively light bend on it then no washers are required.

Thanks for the replys guys. i was ether going to put washers under it. Turn a couple of spacers or clamp it down with 3mm of spacing hit down the ends remove the spacing and re clamp.:D

Thanks again to all that posted replys. I ended up using 1mm washers under the bars and the bend was only slight. I thought it would have been a lot more so again thanks to all involved. Looking forward to the next problem....:D
