right then, im trying to wire in 4 55w sptolights on the roof of my 90, ive got the wires in and i got onto putting the relay in, wired it up correctly and found there is no power coming out of the relay, i know it is not the ground or the positive because it is wired straight to the battery, so i think it is either to do with the switch or the load wire, maybe the relay isnt big enough to actually switch it or something ? really annoying me as ive done it before with my a bar spots which went fine but any help on where i could be going wrong would be very much appreciated, thanks, mat.

check relay but hooking it striaght up to battery and see if you can hear it clicking.

if not = duff realy (crack it open to confirm if you like)

If you can hear it clicking, hook and beep meter to the Normally open Contacts (or use a bulb and a battery) and repeat. If the bulb don't light, relay contacts are fried.

Above all though, check your relay pinouts, some have normally open and normally closed contacts (also know as Change Over relays)

also check the fuse thats supplying power to your relay. could be blown, same for the power to your spot lights. make sure the fuse is spec'd high enough to pull the current you spotlights need. (4*55W = 220W / 12 = 18.3A, so call it a 20A fuse for a bit of headroom for things like inrush current)

Wired correct?, worth checking.
There's 2 independant sides to the relay,
12v switched side is there you say, connect direct to cable to
spots, do they light?
Confirm with a meter the signal has 12 v when required and
the relay is earthed.
