Split brake hose?

Right i did a bit of searching but didn't come up with too much.

I went to whaddon yesterday and on the way back noticed my brake pedal had dropped and took to pumps to apply the brakes. What would be the likely cause of this. is it likely to be that i have stretched a flexi and let some air in. I cant really think what would cause this symptom you see.

Sounds like air has got into the system. Could be failed slave cylinder seal, failing master cylinder seal, brake fluid overheating, empty reservoir, loose pipe union, corroded pipe, loads of possibilities. Check there's fluid in the reservoir then look for leaks - you might have to take the drums off to find them. If there's no leaks try bleeding the brakes - it might give you a clue where the air is getting in.

Yeah there was still fluid in the reservoir and all the cylinders are pretty new which is why i though maybe a flexi on fully articulation. Does anyone know if the pipes are put uder tension at full articulation if you have parabolic springs?

I'd check the adjusters on all four wheels, they can unwind themselves and causes symptoms you describe

Was it Britpart brake cylinders you fitted, could be a quality issue if they were the cheaper ones.

Years ago I had an 88'' that failed its MOT after fitting paras and the tester thought there in the wasn't enough slack in the flexi.
It wasn't damaged but after he pointed it out it did seem a little on the tight side.....so yes its possible

Yeah they were britpart cyllinders, it may just be a conincidence that it happened on a day off off roading, ill have a good inspect and see what i can find, could be a good excuse to fit the 11 inch drums i have in my shed

does anyone know what fitting sixes are on each end of the flexi's? i may order soem extended braided ones
